Energy savings support company’s expansion

The Fredy Wiesner Group AG is a Swiss family business that made a name for themselves in Asian and Australian gastronomy, and operates 20 restaurants. In particular in the field of Asian cooking, the company has developed so strongly that around the end of 2013, they offered training in Sushi cookery to cover their own needs for qualified staff. To keep an eye on the cost side during the expansion efforts the company commissioned Expense Reduction Analysts Andreas Bünter to reduce energy costs. Wolfram Köhler, the energy expert, joined him on this project.

For the 7 most important operations, the company had up to now spent over 70,000 CHF on electricity purchase. Expense Reduction Analysts’ target was to reduce purchase prices and to optimise the electricity consumption to 800,000kWh per year.

Following the tender, Expense Reduction Analysts identified a service provider who was able to offer cheaper prices by a good 21% (i.e. 15,000 CHF) per year. In addition, in view of the probable increase in electricity prices, the prices were fixed for a period of 3 years.

Daniel Wiesner, Manager of the Negishi restaurants, was very satisfied with the result. “We are very happy with the savings generated. We can invest these funds in the further development of our restaurants.”
