About the project
The Neoperl Group deals with innovative solutions for drinking water. As a supplier to the sanitary fittings industry, the company offer products that shape and control water streams, regulate the flow rates and protect the drinking water, our first source of nutrition.
The history of the Neoperl Group began over 50 years ago with the successful development and marketing of jet controls for valves; built-in backflow preventers and flow controllers products have been developed as important additional pillars. Today, many faucet and other industrial manufacturers around the world trust the Neoperl brand.
In order to optimise the category of logistics which is becoming increasingly important within the supply chain, Neoperl GmbH commissioned Martin Kalatschek to investigate the logistics costs. Klaus-Michael Plötz, expert in courier and logistics, joined Kalatschek on the project. So far, Neoperl had issued a seven-digit figure for domestic and international land transport, parcel and express services as well as air freight.
In order to achieve savings in the domestic and international land transports, Expense Reduction Analysts launched a tender for the services and suggested that Neoperl could introduce a far more differentiated tariff. This new tariff resulted in great savings and improved quality, especially for international procurement of strategically important components.
With regards to express services and airfreight, savings were also achieved after an invitation to tender.
Thanks to the change in logistics, the savings there for Neoperl were in the double-digit percentage rate, with the greatest achieved in international inland transport.
