Hermods realises total cost savings of €250,000 in 5 different categories

Hermods AB, established in 1898, has up until now educated over 4 Million people in Sweden. Hermods is today a very modern education company with a focus on their pupils’ needs and high quality delivery. The company is owned by Inter IKEA Investments AB; they have a turnover of around 35 M € and 400 staff in 20 different locations. Hermods’ objective is to achieve a balanced growth, to secure the high-quality delivery of services.

Mathias Skalmstad, CFO at Hermods was given the mission to scrutinise the company’s expense structure. He chose to collaborate with Expense Reduction Analysts from the beginning.
A new tailor-made internet-based system was developed to order office supplies locally, instead of the manual and centralised system in place previously. This was part of the Expense Reduction Analysts’ implementation process, together with savings of 35%.

In the telecommunications category, 26% savings were achieved. Hermods’ investments in office and school furniture, as well as storage cabinets, generated savings of 15% and above when ordering in bulk. At Hermods, there is a strong need in wood materials, working clothes and tools of any kind for the vocational education. Expense Reduction Analysts Jonas Scherp has complimented the existing rebate agreements made on a quarterly basis, with new products added to the Hermods portfolio.
Expense Reduction Analysts has also scrutinised Hermods’ cleaning costs with a result of 32% savings.

Mathias Skalmstad, CFO at Hermods, is very satisfied with the result of the savings that almost reaches 1 % of the company’s turnover.

“Almost equally important as the savings is Expense Reduction Analysts‘ ability to deliver quality products and services, and furthermore, to solve problems as they arise. We are pleased that Expense Reduction Analysts have helped us.”

Mathias Skalmstad, CFO, Hermods
