The company VCST-Reichenbach GmbH, located in Mylau, Saxony, is specialised in the production of complex components for brake systems made for commercial vehicle for people or animals.
The range of products offered by the companies belonging to the international group VCST ranges from air valve for ABS and ESP systems to brake cylinders.
In order to supply their customers in the automotive industry with the quantities ordered in the quality requested, the company operates a park of equipment with modern CNC processing centres.
VCST-Reichenbach asked Rüdiger Kroll from Expense Reduction Analysts to optimise sustainably the production costs and to analyse and investigate the cost categories of electricity and waste disposal. Kroll, as Client Manager, called upon Expense Reduction Analysts experts Andreas Brünger (energy) and Eiko Fischer (waste disposal) to provide the client with the best results.
VCST has a 7-digit annual budget for electricity. Expense Reduction Analysts made and inventory and carried on the investigation with copies of the suppliers’ invoices and contracts provided by the client.
Expense Reduction Analysts issued a call for tender based on the data analysis and on the consumption and demand set forecasts agreed with the client, and invited 5 electricity suppliers to bid alongside the incumbent ones. VCST decided to go with the most economical offer, with a price stability guaranteed for the next few years, along with maximum flexibility. This enables VCST to save around 10% in the future on energy costs.
VCST spends a 5-figure budget annually on waste disposal. Expense Reduction Analysts first investigated the revenue and expenditure structure. Subsequently, more waste disposal providers were invited to tender alongside the 2 incumbent suppliers, with a focus on production waste water and oil-contaminated waste. Expense Reduction Analysts confirmed to the client that they were well positioned with regards to all other waste issues. VCST accepted the recommendation to switch in the future to one of the potential service providers as well as commission a new supplier with the waste disposal. This enables VCST to achieve the best value for money and to reduce their waste disposal costs by 10%.
Thomas Kwaschinsky, General Manager, was satisfied with the results: “The expertise of Expense Reduction Analysts and the level of savings have completely convinced me. It was a pleasant and effective collaboration.”
