Background, Career and Experience of Frederick Marfleet

With extensive experience across multiple industries, Fred Marfleet (full name Frederick Marfleet) has successfully founded and grown a hugely successful company that has helped a long list of clients, whilst also providing employment to multiple support centres and an ever growing consultant network.

As the founder and executive chairman of Expense Reduction Analysts, Fred continues to devote his efforts to helping organisations cut costs, save money and achieve their goals. Fred also works to bring on board new partners and to help those already within the ERA network grow and succeed. The expansion of the ERA presence in UAE is a great example, with Fred commenting “This is a major milestone as we celebrate our 25th year in helping clients to exceed their cost saving goals and we look forward to replicating the ERA methodology to helping clients across the UAE.”

Earlier Career and Education

Fred has always taken a keen interest in business, which had a direct impact on his education. Although originally born in the UK, Fred completed his tertiary education in Australia, choosing to study business related topics and ultimately achieving a Bachelor of Business degree with distinction from Curtin University (Perth, Western Australia).

Fred then went on to qualify as an Australian CPA and subsequently developed a variety of businesses covering a range of industries, including investment and finance fields. With this diverse experience it’s no wonder Fred is considered to be a specialist in entrepreneurship, business development and investment.

Eventually Fred became involved in the idea of ERA, bringing with him valuable insight and experience from his previous endeavours. ERA today is a global consultancy practise operating in more than 30 countries, with more than 650 partners and consultants servicing thousands of clients.

Frederick & 25 Years with ERA

Originally founded in 1992, Fred was looking for a new way to put his wealth of knowledge to good use. With a wide array of experience across a variety of sectors including finance and investments, Fred initially came across the idea in the US. During this time the global economy was experiencing extremely tough prospects as a result of recession, but through a great deal of perseverance the company got started as a small consultancy based in London.

Proving highly successful, a strategy for growing the company inevitably came next, with the results being a franchise model, which began in 1997 within the UK and Australia. The franchise model meant branding and quality levels could be controlled as well as areas of focus, which was extremely important for the continued growth and success of ERA. By maintaining focus on a niche market and cost management, rather than attempting to service every conceivable market area, loss of market definition wasn’t an issue and ensured the ERA brand was hugely successful and helping customers.

Customer Focus

Many organisations talk about putting their customers first however this notion is at the heart of the ERA model, which has contributed to the strong reputation within the industry. Fred has a tremendous passion for his work and the work of ERA and this ethos is shared throughout the organisation, which has been a fundamental part of the on-going growth and client list.

Technology investment is another significant factor in the success of ERA not to mention developing a leading training academy that provides in-house training for all new members of the ERA network. By focusing on the human element of the business, it encourages a similar focus on clients and ensures a positive experience.

ERA continues to focus on helping clients reduce their costs through data driven insight and network experience.
